Shezi Island Island Head Wetland. As the name suggests, Shezi Island Island Head Wetland is located at the tip of the island where the Keelung River and Tamsui River meet. Although the area is only 1 hectare, it lives up to its name, offering a great view of the "head"! As the name suggests, Shezi Island Island Head Wetland is located at the tip of the island where the Keelung River and Tamsui River meet. Although the area is only 1 hectare, it lives up to its name, offering a great view of the "head"! This island head is a reclaimed tidal flat created by the Taipei City Government using dredged soil from the Keelung River. The tidal flat is covered with lush green grass, and flagstone paths and wooden boardwalks have been built to facilitate public access to the viewing platform. The viewing platform is always crowded with anglers, and it is also an excellent spot for observing the confluence of the Keelung River and Tamsui River as they flow into the sea. Looking out, you are greeted by a magnificent 270-degree river view. To the right, you can see the bustling Guandu Temple and the imposing Guandu Bridge, which is as red as its name suggests. To the left, the majestic and graceful Guanyin Mountain stands in the distance. Occasionally, egrets fly by, adding to the picturesque landscape! To the left of the platform is a dense mangrove wetland, echoing the Guandu Nature Park wetland on the opposite bank. After the tide recedes, fiddler crabs can be seen peeking out from the wetland, composing a symphony of mangrove ecology.
