Ride your bike along the Xindian River, passing through a lush green lawn flanked by towering buildings on both sides of the river. After passing through the Machangding Bicycle Path, you can turn into "Machangding Riverside Park," a park located on the banks of the Xindian River, adjacent to Youth Park. Machangding Riverside Park was originally a military area. Later, the Taipei City Government, through extensive negotiations, connected it with the nearby Huajiang Wild Duck Park and Zhongzheng Riverside Park, providing a large recreational area for the Wanhua District. The early mornings in Machangding have a fresh beauty. The long staircase along the riverbank is a great spot to sit and watch the sunrise, with a wide view and reflections in the river. On clear days, you can see the morning sun slowly rising from beside the distant Taipei 101 building. Occasionally, sunlight filtering through the clouds shines on the Xindian River, making the water surface glitter with a golden hue, which is quite beautiful. Within Machangding Riverside Park stands a mound. The inscription in front of the mound reads: "In the 1950s, passionate individuals who pursued social justice and political reform were arrested during the martial law period and executed near this mound at Machangding. To commemorate the deceased and remember this historical event, the execution mound at Machangding has been preserved to mourn the countless souls who sacrificed themselves in Taiwan and to serve as a place for future generations to pay their respects and reflect."
