Ma Ting-ying's Former Residence - Qingtian 76. Located at Lane 7, Section 6, Qingtian Street, Taipei City, hence its name "Qingtian 76". This area is the most concentrated district of Japanese-style historic residences, known as "Eitaku". Built in 1931. The residence was built in 1931 by Professor Jin Adachi. The entire building is primarily constructed of cypress wood. The left side of the interior features a reception room, study, and dining room. The bookshelves, bay windows, European-style flower beds outside, and the front garden all adopt Western styles. The right side of the interior, including the bedroom and children's room, features Japanese tatami design. The entire building blends the advantages of Japanese and Western architecture. In 1945, it was occupied by his close friend, Professor Ma Ting-ying of National Taiwan University's Department of Geology. In 2006, it was officially designated a municipal historic site by the city government. In 2011, alumni of National Taiwan University leased it from the managing authority, National Taiwan University, and it was officially opened to the public. Currently, in addition to free guided tours and science popularization activities, the living room, dining room, and study are open for dining and the sale of cultural and creative products. Professor Ma Ting-ying was from Jin County, Liaoning Province. His courtesy name was Xuefeng, and the 'H' in his English name Ma, Ting Ying H. stands for Xuefeng. Born in 1899, he was a renowned geologist, paleontologist, and marine geologist. He was rigorous in his scholarship and meticulous in his thinking throughout his life.
