In its heyday, it was like the heart of the bustling Dadaocheng district, located at the convergence point of Chongqing North Road, Nanjing West Road, Ningxia Road, and Tianshui Road. It not only spurred local industrial and commercial prosperity, expanding to the surrounding old Jiancheng area, but also served as a cradle for many successful entrepreneurs. After several historical changes, from the discovery of the Dadaocheng Circle air-raid reservoir relic during the excavation of the foundation for reconstruction in 2002, to the Jiancheng Circle that holds the culinary memories of many, it has transformed. Jiancheng Circle has now evolved into an urban oasis. In addition to preserving the original ancient well, it will feature a fountain for relaxation and an urban green plaza. It will also incorporate four sets of public art pieces donated by a foundation to commemorate the past and look towards the future, allowing busy citizens to cultivate their minds and bodies through art, fostering cultural dialogue with the community, and providing a space for relaxation, play, remembrance, and reflection, all contributing to the prosperity and development of the western district.
