In 2005, the Taiwan Museum system plan was approved, and the Land Bank of Taiwan collaborated with the National Taiwan Museum. The National Taiwan Museum is responsible for the restoration and subsequent operation and management of the historic site, positioning it as a museum of natural history and financial history. In 2012, it received the "National Cultural Heritage Preservation Award." The exterior is a stone building with a grand Roman colonnade. The wall material is constructed with divided mortar joints. The cast iron windows use a pulley and counterweight system for easy opening and closing, and the cast iron windows are embedded with hexagonal mesh wire reinforced glass, showcasing the construction techniques and craftsmanship of that era. The interior features a three-story high hall decorated with plaster relief sculptures, exhibiting fossil records of trilobites, dinosaurs, and mammals from the Mesozoic and Cenozoic eras, unveiling the mysteries of Earth's life evolution. It also showcases Taiwan's early financial history, archives of the Land Bank of Taiwan's history, and historic site restoration efforts.
