On January 1, 1946, Fei-ru Song and Tian-deng Wang established the "Renmin Daobao" newspaper here, offering sharp commentary and criticism of the times. After the incident, Song and Wang were arrested and disappeared. The Garrison Command subsequently sealed the premises, citing them as "the main force behind reactionary thought, absurd statements, defamation of the government, and incitement of riots."
