Fuyang Nature Park. Fuyang Nature Park is located at the end of Fuyang Street, Daan District, Taipei City, only a 5-minute walk from Linguang MRT Station, covering an area of 3.8 hectares. Since the Japanese occupation era, this area was used as an ammunition depot. After the restoration of Taiwan, it was garrisoned by the national army until its withdrawal in 1988. In 2000, the Taipei City Government designated the site as park land and proceeded with land appropriation year by year. Between 2005 and 2006, the Public Works Department, Parks and Street Lights Office, planned, designed, and constructed the park. The park has 8 major themed areas, including: Entrance Interpretation Area, Ecological Stream Restoration Area, Cultural and Historical Site Exhibition Area, Natural Succession Area, Butterfly Watching Area, Formosan Giant Flying Squirrel Observation Area, Taipei Frog Observation Area, and Cicada Song Leisure Area. Among these, the Natural Succession Area, Butterfly Watching Area, Formosan Giant Flying Squirrel Observation Area, and Taipei Frog Observation Area boast numerous plants such as Machilus thunbergii, Acacia confusa, Mallotus paniculatus, and Mallotus repandus, thousands of trees, and animals including tree frogs, butterflies, and Formosan giant flying squirrels. The surrounding military dependents' villages, preserved bunkers, culverts, and weathered stone steps bear witness to the arduous work of soldiers, offering a sense of connection with past generations. Due to the long-term military control and isolation from human interference, the entire valley has maintained an ecological landscape almost identical to that of over a century ago. The park features rich forest types.
