Entering from the end of Nanjing West Road (Gate No. 4), you'll see a vast expanse of dense forest, green lawns, and shady trees. This has been the backyard for Datong District residents since ancient times. In the early morning, you can often see grandmothers dancing folk dances in the plaza, and grandfathers strolling or practicing Tai Chi. Outside Gate No. 4 at the end of Nanjing West Road is the 'Yanping Temple,' which remains a gathering place for local elders. The plaque is inscribed with the date 'Yiji Year, Twelfth Lunar Month,' estimated to be built around 1905. Beneath the large altar in front of the temple, the Tiger Lord statue is ancient and lively, seemingly witnessing the rise and fall of the area. Outside Gate No. 5 at the end of Minsheng West Road is Dadaocheng Wharf. As soon as you enter the gate, you'll see colorful Tang-style sailboats, elegantly curved bridges, and a Blue Highway ferry terminal. Currently, you can take a boat to Guandu or Bali, experiencing a different charm from traveling by land.
