Taipei Arena. Taipei Arena is located at the intersection of Dunhua North Road and Nanjing East Road Section 4 in Songshan District, formerly the Taipei Municipal Baseball Stadium. In late 2000, the Taipei City Government demolished the old baseball stadium and built a 15,000-seat multi-purpose stadium (Arena) on the original site. Taipei Arena is an important indoor venue in Taipei City's overall sports facility construction plan. The building is divided into a main venue and a sub-venue. The main venue is a 2-basement, 5-above-ground reinforced concrete building with a total floor area of approximately 90,900 square meters. The main field is 76 meters long and 41.5 meters wide. When the retractable seating is fully extended, the field still measures 60 meters x 29.5 meters. The center of the field can also be completely frozen as needed, becoming a standard indoor ice sports venue. The venue can be flexibly and diversely changed according to needs, thus it can compete for Grade 1 international sports federation events and is a popular venue for domestic and international arts and cultural groups to rent for exhibitions and performances. The Arena Ice Rink is currently the largest ice rink in Taiwan that meets international standards, with a size of 61 meters x 30 meters.
