Nangang Park. Nangang Park was built in 1987 and covers an area of nearly 11.8 hectares. The park is situated by mountains and water, with architecture rich in Chinese style. The park is located at the intersection of Dongxin Street and Chengfu Road, bordering the Military Logistics Command to the north and Nangang Public Housing to the south. To the east, it offers a panoramic view of the Four Beasts Mountain in Xinyi District, boasting a vast vista. It is the largest landscape park in Nangang District, featuring a natural pond. The pond within the park is Houshan Pond, which used to be two large ponds. With the decline of Nangang's agriculture and the development of Nangang Park and Nangang Public Housing, part of Houshan Pond was filled in, now forming a U-shaped flood control pond surrounding a small hill, maintaining its function of flood prevention and water level regulation. The park has a diverse range of plant species. Trees include banyan trees, Bischofia polycarpa, Delonix regia, and Acacia confusa; around the pond, plants like Cerbera odollam and willows are planted. Around the music stage and parking lot, trees such as Dillenia indica and Traveler's Palm are planted, totaling over several species. These are complemented by flowering or colorful foliage shrubs like Ixora, Ruellia, Azaleas, Syzygium aromaticum, Cordyline fruticosa, and Acalypha wilkesiana, making the park's vegetation rich and varied, presenting a diverse landscape. After completing the lakeside walk along the path, you can also take your children to the Nangang Park Forest Adventure Children's Playground. The playground is designed to harmonize with the natural environment and terrain, featuring a dual zip line, roller slide, and sandpit.
