Youth Park. Youth Park is a comprehensive open park in the Greater Taipei metropolitan area, located on the west side of Wanhua District, Taipei City, bordering Guoxing Road to the east, Qingnian Road to the west, and Shuiyuan Road to the south. Youth Park is a comprehensive open park in the Greater Taipei metropolitan area, located on the west side of Wanhua District, Taipei City, bordering Guoxing Road to the east, Qingnian Road to the west, and Shuiyuan Road to the south, and facing Qingnian Road to the north. It covers an area of 24.44 hectares. Its origins trace back to the Japanese colonial era, originally serving as a training ground and later an airport. Due to its location at the southern end of Taipei, opposite Songshan Airport to the north, it was known as 'Nanjichang' (South Airport). In 1953, the Taipei Country Club collaborated with the Ministry of National Defense to establish the Taipei Golf Club. In 1974, during Youth Day, the Executive Yuan instructed the Taipei City Government to take over the golf course and transform it into Youth Park. The park was officially taken over in October of the same year and construction was completed in September 1977, becoming a popular recreational destination for Taipei citizens. The park boasts complete facilities, lush greenery, and beautiful scenery. Sports facilities include a golf course (ticketed) bordering Guoxing Road, 8 swimming pools bordering Shuiyuan Road, and 6 tennis courts on the south side of the park. The swimming pool building also houses a billiard room for recreational play. Free sports and recreational facilities include basketball courts, badminton courts, a baseball field, a roller skating rink, a tennis practice wall, and an outdoor sports field, distributed throughout the park. Additionally, the park offers social education and service facilities such as a bonsai museum, a reading room, an audio-visual classroom, an outdoor amphitheater, and a police substation to serve citizens and visitors.
