Monga Dizang Temple. The Mengjia Dizang Temple, commonly known as the Mengjia Dizangwang Temple, is dedicated to Dizangwang (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva). It is a municipal historic site located on Xichang Street in Wanhua District, Taipei City. It was built during the Qing Dynasty's Qianlong era. The Mengjia Dizang Temple, commonly known as the Mengjia Dizangwang Temple, is dedicated to Dizangwang (Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva) and is a municipal historic site. The temple is located on Xichang Street in Wanhua District, Taipei City. It was built in the 25th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1760) and renovated in the 18th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign (1838). Originally private property, its management rights were transferred to Longshan Temple during the Japanese colonial period to prevent it from being confiscated by the government.
The Dizangwang Temple faces east to west and still maintains the architectural style of a single-hall temple. Its structure is simple, and its carvings are unadorned. It is a single-hall building with a three-bay facade. The roof features a swallowtail ridge and a gable roof. The entrance is a rolled-shed style porch. The column bases are circular. The main timber structure inside the hall uses a "two-tuo-three-gua" (two brackets, three melon-shaped blocks) beam-lifting system. A lamp beam is horizontally placed between the large brackets for hanging lanterns.
In addition to the main deity, Dizangwang Bodhisattva, the Dizang Temple also enshrines Beiji Dadi (Emperor of the North Pole) on the left and Fucheng Huangye (City God of the Prefecture) and Tiandu Yuanshuai (Marshal Tiandu) on the right. Generals Fan and Xie are enshrined on the left and right sides, respectively. The Fucheng Huangye Temple was originally located within Taipei City but was destroyed during the Japanese colonial period, and the Fucheng Huangye was moved to this temple. Tiandu Yuanshuai was originally enshrined in Zilai Temple on Xiyuan Road, but after that temple was destroyed, he was also moved here. Every year on the 30th day of the 7th lunar month, a large Pudu (universal salvation) ceremony is held to celebrate Dizangwang Bodhisattva's birthday.
The offering table features an ancient, unadorned incense burner from the 32nd year of the Meiji era, inscribed with "Guangxu Jihai Year, Autumn Auspicious.
