Located within the Nan Hai Campus, known for its natural and cultural characteristics, the National Taiwan Arts Education Institute's buildings date back to the 1950s, featuring a post-war Chinese classical architectural style. It comprises two main structures, the Nan Hai Theater and the Nan Hai Academy, with additional surrounding areas including the Nan Hai Outdoor Gallery and the Nan Hai Cultural Plaza. The institute organizes and promotes activities related to research, extension, and guidance in school arts education, serving as an important venue for artistic expression, learning, and nurturing creative talent. In 2006, the Taipei City Historic Building Review Committee designated the National Taiwan Arts Education Institute's buildings (including the Nan Hai Theater and Nan Hai Academy) as "historic buildings." Together with the adjacent Educational Broadcasting Station and the National Museum of History, they form a unique architectural cluster within the "Nan Hai Campus," possessing urban landscape and historical value.
