Shanshui Green Ecological Park is a park restored from the landfill area of the Shanchukou sanitary landfill in Nangang. It opened on October 27, 2013. The park covers an area of 21 hectares, making it the largest park and green space in the Nangang District, and a great place for citizens to relax, injecting new vitality into Nangang. The Shanchukou sanitary landfill is located in the Shanchukou valley on the border between the southeastern corner of Nangang District and Shenkeng District, New Taipei City, hence its name. It was the second standard sanitary landfill in Taipei City, covering an area of approximately 65 hectares, with a landfill area of 30 hectares and a capacity of about 6.17 million cubic meters. Shanshui Green Ecological Park features several facilities that were renovated from existing abandoned structures on-site, along with interactive and educational environmental interpretation facilities. Additionally, on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 4 PM, traditional children's toys (stilt walking, rolling iron hoops, spinning tops) and bicycles are provided for free public rental. The vast grounds are also an excellent spot for flying kites. The observation deck in the park offers panoramic views of the Nangang urban area and the mountains of Neihu during the day, and at night, it provides a view of
