Rongxing Garden Park is located in Zhongshan District, in the heart of the city. It is bordered by Longjiang Street to the east, Jianguo North Road to the west, Minquan East Road to the south, and Wuchang Street to the north. The park is rectangular in shape, covering a total area of 6.5 hectares. It was originally a privately-run garden completed by private developers in 1968. In August 1989, it was acquired and developed into a public park. From 2001 to 2006, the park underwent a three-phase renovation. It retains the bougainvillea corridor popular for wedding photos, the natural wetland ecological pond of the Liugong Canal, a water feature performance stage, and a shaded plaza on the southwest side used for morning and evening activities like dancing and tai chi. Other amenities include a sunny lawn in the northeast, a maple and sleeper trail, leisure paths, a scenic lotus pond, wooden boardwalks, a children's play area, a basketball court, a red brick running track, a uniquely designed management service center, three comfortable public restrooms, and multi-person pavilions for chess and conversation, providing high-quality recreational and activity spaces. In recent years, with an increased focus on ecology, the park has collaborated with local community leaders, residents, and experts to restore firefly populations in the ecological pond. The park management office continues to conduct ecological surveys and plan environmental improvements. Currently, there is a stable firefly population, making it a rare spot in downtown Taipei to observe fireflies.
