The Jimmy Liao themed art installation, widely loved by all, is hidden within Nangang Station on the MRT Bannan Line. Nangang MRT Station boldly introduces the internationally renowned illustrations of Jimmy Liao, fully expressing the modernity of the station. It is both realistic and aesthetically pleasing, and has become the most talked-about feature since the opening of Nangang MRT Station. There are a total of 6 large-scale colored murals inside the station. These are enlarged and fired illustrations from Jimmy Liao's bestselling book "Underground" directly onto enamel panels and embedded into the walls. Only one mural is a newly created piece, integrating representative characters from Jimmy Liao's works over the years. The largest mural measures 141 meters in length and 7 meters in height, located on the wall of the waiting platform. Under Jimmy Liao's delicate brushstrokes and observation, the scenery inside the train is revealed even before its arrival. There is an elderly man reading a newspaper, commuters, and bored children without seats, imagining witches flying past the train window, and pigs and rabbits running in the fields, racing against the train. It is full of fun and adds an artistic touch to the boring waiting time. (Source: Department of Information and Tourism, Taipei City Government)
