Yixian Park. Yixian Park is located near Taipei Main Station and is also known as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The Republic of China chose this place as one of the parks to commemorate the Father of the Nation, mainly because it was the teahouse where Sun Yixian stayed when he visited Taiwan in 1913. This teahouse was also the place where Taiwan Governor-General Sakuma Samata and Sun Yixian discussed politics at that time. The current site is No. 46, Section 1, Zhongshan North Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, bordered by Civic Boulevard Section 1 to the north, Zhongshan North Road Section 1 to the east, and Taipei Main Station to the west. Yixian Park covers an area of approximately 3025 square meters. The main building in the park is the "Ume Yashiki" (Plum House), which is about 50 ping. Ume Yashiki, named after the "plum trees" planted in the garden, was built in 1900 and was originally a teahouse run by a Japanese named Yamato Sōkichi. Ume Yashiki was a famous high-class teahouse in Taipei during the Japanese colonial era, located in Kitamon-cho. Taiwan Governors-General, business tycoons, and social celebrities were all honored guests, and geishas could be summoned to entertain. The teahouse is a rectangular Japanese-style building with a roof covered with old-fashioned dark ideal tiles. Legend has it that the teahouse once advertised with performances by Takasago geishas to attract customers. The Ume Yashiki teahouse not only hosted famous political figures such as Sun Yixian and Hu Hanmin in the early 20th century.
