The Taipei Expo Park's Flora Hall is a rare combination of a diamond-level green building and the wisdom of Taiwan's top horticultural experts, focusing on humans, plants, and the environment. It depicts a microcosm of Taiwan's ecological environment by showcasing plants from different regions of Taiwan according to their respective climates and geographical areas, creating an exhibition greenhouse with the highest diversity of plant species per unit area in Taiwan. The exhibition areas of the Taipei Expo Park include the Taiwan Native Plant Area with the most local characteristics, the Tropical/Subtropical Plant Area with a tropical island flair, the Orchid and Fern Exhibition Area with a vibrant display of flowers, the Succulent Plant Area with unique and diverse shapes, the Temperate Plant Area offering a feast for both sight and smell, and the Alpine Plant Area representing resilience. Additionally, within the Temperate Plant Area, there is a display of Begonia varieties, provided by Professor Jing-yi Peng of Academia Sinica, who spent over 20 years collecting more than a hundred varieties from around the world. This section specifically introduces Begonias with uniquely shaped leaves and beautiful, colorful patterns. The entire hall exhibits over a thousand plant species, each vying for attention with its unique and stunning beauty. (Source: Taipei Expo Park)
