Songshan was already... Songshan Station is one of Taiwan's few historic stations, dating back to the Qing Dynasty's Guangxu era when the first railway from Keelung to Hsinchu was built. Songshan was already a simple ticket booth. The Songshan area was developed early on, originally a settlement of the Ketagalan Pingpu indigenous people's Maoli-juhou community, with the old place name being "Dajianan Xikou Street." In the 13th year of Guangxu (1887), the train tickets used at the time were replaced by dragon and horse stamps. During the Japanese colonial era, in the 9th year of Taisho, Dajianan Xikou Street was renamed "Songshan Zhuang, Shichisei District, Taipei Prefecture," and "Xikou Station" was also renamed "Songshan Station."
