Wang Da-hong Theater of Architecture. The Wang Da-hong Theater of Architecture was formerly the residence of architect Wang Da-hong, located in an alley off Jianguo South Road. In 2017, the "Wang Da-hong Architecture Research and Preservation Association" recreated a replica in the Art Park south of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum and donated it to the Taipei City Government for research and educational promotion. In 2018, the Taipei Fine Arts Museum launched operations in the form of the "Wang Da-hong Theater of Architecture," aiming to serve as a key base for the public to learn about Wang Da-hong and his residence, and to become an exhibition and experimental platform for promoting Taiwanese architectural history and introducing architectural aesthetics. The "Wang Da-hong Theater of Architecture," initiated by the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, incorporates both "architecture" and "theater." It can be interpreted as "architecture (itself as a stage for life) theater," or it can take "architecture" as a verb, interpreting it as "to architect (a) theater." The "theater" here differs from the conventional understanding of a physical theater space with a stage, seating, actors, and audience. Conceptually, it is closer to constructing a space different from the real world, allowing the audience to step in and experience it firsthand, building their unique viewing experience. The DH Café, Wang Da-hong's bookstore, is located next to the "Wang Da-hong Theater of Architecture" in a multi-functional art and cultural space, featuring carefully selected books on architecture and art, coffee and light meals, as well as integrated micro-exhibitions and themed salons.
