The wall partitions are made of professional soundproofing building materials, thick and sturdy, completely isolating external environmental noise. The interior decoration of the theatre is made of high-grade solid oak building materials, with good reverberation effect, creating a clear sound field. To express the beauty of "rests" and "pianissimo" in music, the air conditioning system is one of the important designs of Shih Fang Music Theatre, completely free from the wind noise of air ducts in general small performance venues and multi-functional medium to large performance venues. The audience seating is tiered, using movable folding chairs, which can be flexibly used according to the needs of each performing group. In 1997, percussionist Mr. Xu Bonian, who studied in France, and pianist Ms. Luo Meiya, filled with passion for art, returned to Taiwan – the land they deeply loved – wanting to cultivate a garden of humanities and arts. Given the limited performance venues available for professional musicians in Taiwan at the time, especially for "contemporary music," they chose a factory in a small alley in Datong District, Taipei City, and transformed it into Taiwan's first private art venue.
