Dadaocheng was the main birthplace of modern Taiwanese thought. The enlightened individuals of Dadaocheng, with their broad worldview and profound understanding of new culture, sowed the seeds of new culture under the oppressive Japanese colonial rule, and bloomed resiliently. The Museum of Taiwan Literature and New Arts will recreate the unparalleled historical splendor of Dadaocheng, commemorating the fearless pioneers of new culture from that era. In addition to actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials of the New Culture Movement, it will continue to integrate and revitalize various precious cultural assets related to Dadaocheng, meticulously researching the activity hubs and former residences of important historical figures, connecting them into a cultural and historical trail, and establishing it as the "Dadaocheng History and Arts Center." This will transform Dadaocheng into an open cultural and historical living museum. In the future, on the streets of Dadaocheng, one can listen to cultural historians recount the moving historical deeds of the enlightened individuals and literati of the era of awakening. Furthermore, within the museum, the contemporary historical atmosphere will be recreated. In different exhibition halls, one can savor contemporary new literature, listen to contemporary new folk songs, watch contemporary new dramas, and appreciate contemporary new art.
