The eastern campus became Dadaocheng First Public School (now Taiping Elementary School), while the western campus became the current Yongle Elementary School. Taiping Elementary School also boasts many renowned alumni, such as artists Huang Tu-shui and Yang San-lang, and well-known entrepreneur Koo Chen-fu. After the outbreak of the 228 Incident in 1947, Taiping Elementary School was used as a detention center for arrested individuals.
