The name Rhizophoraceae comes from the red color of its bark and wood. It mainly grows in tropical and subtropical estuaries and coastlines. The mangrove forest in this area is entirely Kandelia obovata, an evergreen tree with viviparous reproduction. The name Kandelia obovata comes from its viviparous seedlings resembling pen handles. After exiting Hongshulin MRT Station, follow Alley No. 50 of Wai Gancheng Lin to reach the mangrove swamp area. Fiddler crabs and mudskippers are active in the park. From mid-September to mid-March each year, egrets, sandpipers, and other waterbirds can be seen, making it a rich and accessible natural ecology classroom.
