Due to the sandy soil and moderate rainfall throughout the year, during the flourishing tea period in the 1960s and 1970s, local tea farmers used osmanthus as a spice to bake tea leaves, thereby increasing the added value of the tea. For every 100 kilograms of tea, 25 kilograms of osmanthus were required, leading to the planting of a large number of osmanthus trees alongside the tea gardens.
