San Zhong Temple. Also known as San Gong Temple, San Zhong Temple is located on Chang'an Street, Shuangxi Village, and is a temple in Shuangxi District, New Taipei City, dedicated to the three loyal ministers of the late Southern Song Dynasty – Wen Tianxiang, Lu Xiufu, and Zhang Shijie. In the 46th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1781 AD), Lian Yuanqiao, a native of Jiangdu Township, Changtai County, Fujian Province, led a group of people to cross the sea to Taiwan. At that time, he brought a statue of Lord Wen Tianxiang. After crossing mountains and ridges to reach Shuangxi, he found Shuangxi to be a wilderness, not yet cultivated, but with beautiful mountains and clear waters. Therefore, he settled here, engaged in land reclamation and cultivation, and built a thatched hut for worship. Although the people who migrated to Taiwan were not fleeing from war, the Han spirit of opposing the Qing and restoring the Ming was still strong. In addition, being far from their hometown and crossing the ocean, they inevitably felt a sense of emptiness in their hearts. They all placed their spiritual hopes on the blessings of the gods for peace and prosperity.
