It is named after its mountain shape, which resembles the tail of a Taoist priest's bun (Shigong in Taiwanese Hokkien) when viewed from afar. It is also known as Huoshaoliao Mountain and is the highest peak in the Shiding mountain range. Most visitors start from the historic Nanshan Temple (commonly known as Xianggong Temple), where they can enjoy views of the sea of clouds, tea plantations, and Dashè Lake.
