Jianshanhu Memorial Monument. The Jianshanhu Memorial Monument is located in Shimen District's Shimen Cave, about one kilometer from the famous Qingshan Waterfall. It dates back to the 12th year of the Showa era (1937) during the Japanese occupation. In the 12th year of the Showa era (1937) during the Japanese occupation, the Japanese Navy Air Corps sent personnel to fight in China. While passing over Jianshanhu in Shimen District, Taiwan, a fighter jet unfortunately crashed due to bad weather, resulting in the death of all seven officers on board. The Japanese authorities erected a monument at the crash site in Jianshanhu to commemorate these soldiers and offer condolences. A twelve-meter-high stone monument inscribed with "Site of the Naval Officers' Valiant Sacrifice" was erected, along with a shrine for remembrance. Several cherry trees were planted around the site, and multiple small stone lanterns were installed. Currently, there is a well-planned hiking trail, and many people visit on weekends for hiking and to enjoy the offshore scenery of Shimen District.
