Tamsui Longshan Temple. Located in the alleys of Tamsui Old Street, hidden within the market, Tamsui Longshan Temple is one of the five existing Longshan Temples in Taiwan. Tamsui Longshan Temple was built in 185. Located in the alleys of Tamsui Old Street, hidden within the market, Tamsui Longshan Temple is one of the five existing Longshan Temples in Taiwan. Tamsui Longshan Temple was built in 1858 and enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva. The narrow, street-house style temple once had a spacious front plaza and a garden courtyard in the back. It is not only one of Tamsui's spiritual centers but also served functions of local governance and self-defense. Together with Qingshuiyan Temple, Yinshan Temple, and Fuyou Temple, it is known as the "Four Great Temples of Tamsui."
