Tamsui Fuyou Temple. Located on Zhongzheng Road Old Street in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, the actual construction history of Fuyou Temple is unknown. It is said to have been founded during the Yongzheng era and rebuilt in 17. It is said to have been founded during the Yongzheng era and rebuilt in 1796 (the first year of Jiaqing). However, it is certain that Fuyou Temple has a history of over 200 years. It is a Grade III historic site and one of the oldest among the four major temples in Tamsui. The temple mainly enshrines Mazu, also known as Mazu Temple. Because it did not receive imperial enfeoffment, it retains its original name and is not called Tianhou Temple. It was the center of development for Tamsui Street in the past. One of the couplets in front of the temple, "The sea of suffering is boundless, who can reach the other shore from Meizhou?" vividly portrays the hardships faced by our ancestors during their journey across the sea to Taiwan, and the important role of Mazu in protecting the people by calming the seas.
