Xindian Ferry Terminal. The ferry across the Xindian River, established in the 7th year of the Guangxu reign (1881). There were nine ferry crossings from the upper to middle reaches of the Xindian River; Xindian Ferry is the only remaining manually operated ferry crossing. In early years, Xindian Ferry was the sole transportation hub for entering the mountainous areas of Wantan, Zhitan, Tutan, and Quchi from Xindian. After roads were gradually opened, this place has become a tourist attraction for weekend leisure. Residents or tourists taking the ferry to Wantan can not only reminisce about the past but also enjoy the pleasure of a light boat on the water amidst the beautiful scenery of Bitan.
