The Datong Mountain Hiking Trail is composed of stairs, primitive trails, and cement paths, with three main routes that eventually converge at Qinglong Ridge. Two of the trailheads are not far from Shulin Station and Shanjia Station, making it accessible by Taiwan Railways. The trail is lined with dense trees, with gentle ascents and descents.
