Fushiping Ancient Trail. Fuji Ancient Trail is located in Wanli District, New Taipei City. It is also known as "Dajian Ancient Trail" because it follows the southeastern ridge of Dajian Mountain. Dajian Mountain is a conical volcanic remnant, resembling Japan's Mount Fuji, hence its nickname "Little Mount Fuji," which is the origin of the name "Fuji" Ancient Trail. A stone monument at the entrance of the trail details its origin. It was a mountain path opened during the Japanese colonial era to facilitate cattle herding in the area around Huangzui Mountain and to connect with other ancient trails such as Yulu Ancient Trail and Wanxi Ancient Trail.
