During the Japanese colonial period, a small sheltered anchorage was built here. Aodi is a natural bay surrounded by mountains on three sides, and the seabed is mostly rocky, with fewer problems of sand drift. It has excellent conditions for building a port and can be used by local and visiting boats during fishing seasons or typhoons. In recent years, in line with tourism policies, it has developed tourism fisheries, driving the development of the Aodi area. It is now one of the important fishing ports along the Northeast Coast Highway. Due to its excellent geographical conditions, Aodi has abundant fishery resources, as well as marine plants such as agar-agar, laver, and kelp, making it a major seafood distribution center on the Northeast Coast. In a seafood street less than one kilometer long, there are more than ten seafood restaurants of various sizes, offering fresh seafood at affordable prices.
