The former Taiwan Metal Mining Corporation plant near Shuinandong and the Yin-Yang Sea is also known as the Thirteen Layers Ruins. It was once the largest ore dressing and smelting plant in the Shuinandong, Jinguashi, and Jiufen areas. This plant, used for refining gold, silver, and copper ore, resembles a beautiful abandoned palace from afar. The waste gas flues, stretching 2 kilometers and coiling around the mountainside, appear and disappear among the peaks, adding a sense of mystery. To witness the unique desolate beauty of the Thirteen Layers Ruins, the most captivating views are from the Shuinandong parking lot looking up, and from the side at the Changren Community viewing pavilion.
