Chuang Kung-sheng Old House. Gongsheng Zhuang Tingcan's ancestral home was Guoyang Township, Nanjing, Zhangzhou, Fujian. His great-grandfather Zhuang Chaoxin moved to Taiwan in 1756, and his father Zhuang Yuanzhu in 1851 (Xianfeng). Gong Sheng Zhuang Tingcan's ancestral home was Guixiang Township, Nanjing, Zhangzhou, Fujian. His great-grandfather, Zhuang Chaoxin, moved to Taiwan in 1756, and his father, Zhuang Yuanzhu, moved to Shuangxi in 1851 (the first year of Xianfeng), continuing the family tradition of farming and scholarship. Zhuang Tingcan passed the Xiucai examination in 1877 (the third year of Guangxu) and was appointed Lin in 1888 (the fourteenth year of Guangxu). In 1895 (the Yima year), he returned to Zhangzhou to avoid the Japanese army. In 1901 (the twenty-seventh year of Guangxu), he went to Zhangzhou Prefecture for the provincial examination and then returned to Shuangxi to live out his old age. After passing the Xiucai examination, Zhuang Tingcan established the "Meizhu Garden" private school near his former residence, dedicating himself to Confucianism and nurturing talented individuals. During the Japanese occupation period, locals referred to him as a Qing Dynasty elder. His elder brother, Jin Bo, also passed the imperial examination, and with both brothers achieving scholarly success, they were deeply respected. Therefore, the "Gong Sheng Zhuang" family has a close relationship with the historical development, traditional Confucianism, and cultural progress of the region.
