It is located on the mountainside of Benshan, at an altitude of about 295 meters. After Jinguashi stopped mining gold in 1972, Pit No. 5 also faced the fate of closure in 1978. Pit No. 5 is the most well-preserved pit among the nine Benshan pits today. The air compressors, mine car heads, washrooms, and ore transport cableways used for gold mining in the past are still preserved, witnessing the hundred-year history of Jinguashi mining.
