In April 2021, the preparatory office for the Hou-tong Cat Village was established to strengthen the care for cats in the village. It provides services such as creating "ID cards" for stray cats, conducting census of "cat households," and setting up medical stations to meet the various needs of stray cats in Hou-tong.
