National Taipei University. The predecessor of National Taipei University was the College of Law and Business of Chung Hsing University. It was established as an independent university in Sanxia, New Taipei City in 2000. The campus covers an area of 60 hectares and has faculties of law. The campus covers an area of 60 hectares and has seven colleges: the College of Law, College of Business, College of Public Affairs, College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, and the International College of Sustainability Innovation. National Taipei University is located near the Sanxia landmark, Yushan (Kite Mountain), and the university therefore uses the kite as its symbol, with the Flying Kite Plaza established in the southwest corner of the campus. The Sanying Line MRT viaduct that crosses Flying Kite Plaza has been designed with local Sanxia elements to resemble brickwork and an arched exterior, named the "Sigu Corridor," becoming a new landmark on campus.
