The Tamsui-Bali Bridge, located at the confluence of river and sea, connects Tamsui and Bali with a single-pylon asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge structure, significantly reducing travel time between the two locations that previously required passing through Guandu Bridge. The bridge is equipped with lanes for buses, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and pedestrians, and also includes space for light rail tracks. The construction plan for the Tamsui-Bali Bridge was first proposed in the 1980s. In a 2015 international design competition, renowned architect Zaha Hadid's design was selected, blending engineering rationality with aesthetic poetry to create a new landmark at the mouth of the Tamsui River.
