The Botanical Garden is located behind the Museum of Natural Science and is administratively managed by the museum. Covering an area of 4.5 hectares, the Botanical Garden collects approximately 750 species of plants, all of which are native to Taiwan. It is divided into two main sections: the Tropical Rainforest Greenhouse and the outdoor ecological exhibition area for low-altitude plants from various regions of Taiwan. Special exhibition rooms for different themes are also established. With the butterfly sculpture in front of the Tropical Rainforest Greenhouse and overlooking the water in front, it is the best spot for newlyweds to take wedding photos. The Botanical Garden is different from ordinary urban parks; once night falls, it becomes the best place for citizens to stroll, chat, and relax after dinner. For Taiwanese people living in the city, a visit to the Botanical Garden awakens memories of their homeland and responds to their impressions and feelings for the land and its creatures.
