The temple was founded in the 10th year of Guangxu's reign (Qing Dynasty) and moved to its current location in the 10th year of Taisho's reign (1921, Japanese colonial era). It has undergone several renovations and remains a popular place of worship. Under the sunlight, the ornate ceramic tiles on the temple roof sparkle, complementing the lifelike statues. The City God's festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 6th lunar month every year.
