Taichung Public Library Shalu Shenbo Branch. In 1986, the "Shalu Township Library" was established on the fourth floor of the Shalu Township Office building. To provide a more convenient reading space, the then-Township Mayor Chen Ming-di hoped to combine private and public efforts to build a larger library, aligning with the government's "a library in every township" policy. In collaboration with the local "Vedan Enterprise," the township office provided public land of 4,797 square meters, Vedan Enterprise contributed the construction funds, and the Taiwan Provincial Department of Education and Taichung County Government subsidized the equipment. Construction began in 1988 by Vedan Enterprise and was completed at the end of 1989, handed over to the township office for management. The library officially opened its doors on February 20, 1990, with book lending services commencing on July 14 of the same year. To honor the company's sincere contribution to the community, the library was named "Shalu Township Shen-Po Library" after Mr. Yang Shen-po, the founder of Vedan Enterprise. On December 25, 2010, due to the merger of Taichung County and City, it was placed under the Taichung City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau and renamed "Taichung City Shalu District Shen-Po Library." On March 1, 2016, due to organizational integration, it was reorganized under the "Taichung City Huludun Library Shalu Shen-Po Branch.
