A long time ago, because this area was covered with a low shrub whose leaves were about ten to twenty centimeters in diameter, if the skin accidentally touched the fuzz on the leaves, it would immediately cause unbearable itching, like being burned by fire, making people restless. Mild cases would take 2 days to heal, while severe cases would take 3 to 4 days. The common name for this plant is "Yaoren Gou" (biting dog), hence the local people called this mountain area "Yaoren Gou Keng" (biting dog pit).
