Located in Shigang District, Shigang Old Street's original site is on today's Shigang Street, near Provincial Highway 3 and the Dongfeng Bicycle Green Way. The bicycle path, converted from an old forest railway, also features the former site of Shigang Railway Station. The past prosperity of Shigang Old Street was closely tied to this station. However, with the decline of the forest railway and two major earthquakes, the old street's former glory faded, replaced by modern concrete buildings. Today, apart from a preserved old granary, only a few buildings on Shigang Street retain their Japanese-style wooden bungalows and black roofs.
