Xiaoyun Villa. Xiaoyun Villa was built in the fifth year of Tongzhi (1866) by Lu Bingnan to honor his mother, Madam Zhang. Xiaoyun Villa was built in the fifth year of Tongzhi (1866) by Lu Bingnan to honor his mother, Madam Zhang. Upon its completion, Lu Bingnan's reputation reached its peak. Bingnan had three sons: Ru Yu, Ru Xiu, and Ru Cheng, all of whom passed the xiucai examination. The juren scholar Wu Ziguang praised them as the "Three Phoenixes of the Eastern Sea." During the Japanese colonial period, two more poets emerged from Xiaoyun Villa: Lu Hou'an and Lu Yunbai. Both were members of the Wufeng Lixue Society. At a time when Taiwan was under Japanese rule, they tirelessly promoted poetry education and the development of Han Chinese history and culture.
