The "Forestry Bureau Taichung Branch Dormitory" was built between 1927 and 1930 and previously served as important Japanese-style accommodation for Japanese staff and visiting officials during the Baxianshan Forest Operation. The building features a linear layout: the east side is single-story, divided into reception rooms and living quarters; the west side is a two-story design, with the first floor serving as a reception area and the second floor as guest rooms. It once offered distant views of the log pond and showcases precious architectural features from the Japanese colonial era, including a ventilated second-floor raised floor design, decorative rain shelter brackets, dormer windows, and sliding storm shutters.
