This is Shuijutou, rumored to be a dragon's lair, and the legend that a future emperor will emerge from here has been around for a long time. It is a feng shui treasure land that locals deeply believe in. Besides the legendary stories, historically, this was a port of the ancient Daofeng Bay. Shuijutou was a three-way harbor in Daofeng Bay, benefiting from its strategic location, allowing ships to travel directly to Fujian. Shuijutou Port was once a port for sugar export. Also, because the area was populated by Pingpu indigenous people and deer were abundant in the Madou community, large quantities of deerskin were exported from here. Merchant ships docked at Shuijutou to unload goods, making it a prosperous hub for a time, and it can be called the birthplace of Madou. At that time, besides the Pingpu indigenous people living nearby, there was also the Madou street, mainly inhabited by Han Chinese. In the early stages of Han Chinese immigration to Taiwan, most people gathered near the port, forming bustling market towns. Later, due to environmental changes, river channels silted up, and the coastline shifted westward. Currently, only some pier ruins remain. The remnants of the ancient waterway and ancient ship nails discovered here evoke the bustling scene of ships and merchants coming and going in the port at that time.
