Legend has it that there was a Pingpu tribesman who could run faster than a horse, and even raced against a horse in front of Emperor Qianlong and won. The emperor was greatly pleased, and he and his son were granted the honor of three audiences with the emperor. This is "Cheng Tianyu" in the current Flying Man's tomb. The tombstone still bears the inscription "Father and son face the emperor three times," which is also the oldest Pingpu tomb recorded in Taiwan, dating back over 240 years.
