Wanhuang Temple was built around 1739, worshipping the main deities Ye, Zhu, and Li Sanfu Qiansui, serving as the local center of faith. The temple architecture imitates a royal palace, magnificent and grand in scale. The paintings and carvings inside the temple are all creations of master artists, including works by Pan Lishui, Cai Caoru, and Shi Hongyi. The Wanhuang Temple Royal Boat Jian Jiao ceremony, held every 12 years, is a major local event. A super-large altar and royal boat, as spectacular as the temple itself, are built in the front plaza, making it a must-see photographic subject for many cultural photographers. In recent years, the popularity of the "Xishi Ji" market in the Xishu village has also driven a surge in visitors.
